Features
Product Introduction
TP-17C is the third generation model of TP-17 series scanning optical probe. It is a duplex-function model, and may be used to test mechanical meters or electric meters in their accuracy testing. Already a perfect TP-GS accessory can be a combination of TP-T/TC set plus bracket to be integrated with the TP-GS bracket.
Strong Compatibility
Picks up visible and infrared light of different colors and wavelengths, converts pulses of light into electric pulses. Silicon chip supports 5/12/24 VDC and other connectors.
Applies to All Meters
Mechanical and intelligent meter with sensing IR LED light and rotor marks. One tool (TP - 17) meets all needs.
High Sensitivity
Maximum pulse width (minimum) is 200ms. Maximum frequency is 5kHz. Combines two features, does not allow light interference, can be used both in the house and inside.
Excellent Performance in Harsh Environment
Performs well in extreme climatic conditions. Has premium - level enclosure, robust cable, and hassle-free button mode.

Reliable Optical Communication for Smart Metering
The current AMI systems demand consistent and reliable meter level data capture. Reading of meters was time consuming and prone to errors.
The optical probes offered by Tespro such as TP-BT, USB series allowed automatic data retrieval via optical ports and were compatible with different meter brands and protocols. Bluetooth and USB models were flexible to be used in the field and also on a desktop.
Case
Product Case
A utility testing company found it difficult to alternate between mechanical and electric meters when performing the on-site accuracy verification-they had to carry different tools to probe each different meter resulting in the clumsy equipment transport and time loss in the workflow.
The TP-17C Duplex-function Scanning Probe of Tespro is an innovative breakthrough in utility metering and has a unique mechanism of one-button switching of the modes. This new feature enables technicians to easily switch between mechanical meter and electric meter testing at a touch of a button. Gone are the times when people had to carry several devices, with TP-17C, things are much simpler, and it is more efficient, not to mention the size of equipment.
The core of its versatility is a dual-sensing system. In the case of mechanical meters, the scanning probe is designed with very sensitive sensors that will help identify the minute rotate marks and trace the action of meter dials carefully. On the electric meter aspect, it uses advanced optical and infrared sensors that are able to record light/IR pulses with precision.
Those various input signals are then run through an advanced internal algorithm and transformed into a regular and dependable electric impulsions. This guarantees a consistent capture of data among different types of meters, and its integration with current data management systems is not problematic. Both in old-fashioned mechanical meters and new smart electric meters, the TP-17C is extremely accurate and consistent and has achieved a new standard in utility metering technology.
The enclosed TP-GS2 light and robust magnetic casing allows it to be firmly attached to any meter, whereas durable ABS+PC enclosure and IP54 enclosure consider the regular field work. The combination of these features meant that the mixed-meter testing scheme of the firm was simplified, the equipment would not clutter up the office, and the accuracy checks could be made efficiently and without any problems.
