Features
Product Introduction
TP-12 optical scanning probe has the capability of detecting light, as well as IR(Infrared) light pulses, which are emitted by LED, and converting them to electric pulses. TP-12 uses two power supply modes: in one mode it is powered by +5V which is also provided by outer power source and in this mode LED indicator on the top of the probe is turned on. The alternative source of power is +3.3V that can be used in battery power system in extremely low consumption. In this mode, the LED on top of probe is disabled.
Strong Compatibility
Senses the light of various colors and wavelengths, transforms light pulses to electric pulses. Has two power supply modes and different connectors.
Fixed Method
Bears various fixing techniques such as magnets, double sided tapes, and others. Double sided tape is widely used as easily fixed and protectively.
High Sensitivity
The Max 5kHz frequency, min 200ms pulse width. Perceives various colors of light, and is not easily interfered with, can be used both indoors and outside.
Excellent Performance in Harsh Environment
Constructed of 100% PC, can be used in summer sun or in the winter snow blizzard. Has top - level enclosure, powerful magnet, long lasting cable.

Reliable Optical Communication for Smart Metering
The modern AMI systems demand consistent and precise data collection at the meter level. It was time-consuming and subject to errors because of reading by hand.
The Tespro TP-BT and USB series of optical probes allowed automatic retrieval of data through optical port, and supported most meter brands and protocols. Bluetooth and USB models were flexible both in the field and desktop applications.
Case
Product Case
A developer of a solar energy project had a problem with energy data collection of remote battery-powered monitoring systems- current probes used too much power and battery-powered devices were depleted in a short time and had to be visited every now and then by the maintenance personnel to off-grid solar installations. This failed to provide a smooth monitoring of the output of the solar energy and the performance of the systems.
This was solved by the TP-12 Mini Optical Probe of Tespro, which had ultra-low power design and requires less than 1mA in standby and minimal pulse current. Its dual power supply connections easily blended with the battery operated appliances of the project and avoided over drainage of energy.
Its small, light frudden probe and flexible mounting capability made installation on solar energy meter very easy, and its capability to detect light and IR pulses made sure that the data was properly captured. This was to be solved by providing long term, low maintenance energy monitoring in the remote solar project.
