TP-typec series optical probe is a product of Tespro China that has a USB type c interface to communicate data primarily to suit various kinds of laptops. One of the utility companies in Southeast Asia experienced aggravating bottlenecks in the data collection of their legacy meters-the incompatible nature of the devices and time-consuming nature of installing the drivers in the field slowed down the field operations to snail pace.
In search of an easy-going, user-friendly solution to consolidate the use of data capture in its electricity and water meter networks, the company resorted to the Tespro TP-TypeC series of optical probes, which are designed to capture the same in a TP-type.
The USB Type-C OTG interface of the TP-TypeC was a game-changer and allowed allowing the connection to laptops and tablets without additional drivers, i.e. a plug-and-play functionality that made technicians go online immediately.
It was highly magnetic therefore enabling fast installation on meters without use of tools, which is very troublesome. The 2 meters standard cable had easy range of operation in the field and the light weight design lowers the fatigue of technicians when doing their rounds on a daily basis.
