Reliable Optical Communication for Smart Metering
The current AMI systems need consistent and precise data acquisition at meter level. Reading of these meters was a long and inaccurate process.
The optical probes of Tespro (Tespro TP-BT series and Tespro USB series) allowed automatic access to data through optical ports and protocols of other types of meters. Bluetooth and USB models were flexible to use either in the field or desktop.

Product Case
The major provider of IoT solutions in the southeast of Asia encountered constant difficulties in coming up with smart meter terminals to be used by the utilities in the region. Self-designed collection devices were limited to TTL interfaces only, and the optical probes available at that time in the market were not compatible or required adapters which, because of their bulk, could not be stable in data transfer, had frequent connection problems, and the products took too long to get to the market.
The client required a solution that is purpose-built, which would make direct integrations with their hardware without affecting performance and their workflow. The TP-TTL Series Optical Probe of Tespro met these pain points to the latter. The probe also included a native TTL interface, allowing connection to the custom terminals of the client, which removed any additional adapters and allowed a homogeneous, continuous flow of data.
The possibility of tailor made aviation plug enabled a perfect fitting with the specifications of the device of the client and this eliminated the compatibility problems that bedeviled earlier trials using generic probes.
The client managed to streamline their process of producing and deploying smart terminals with the TP-TTL. The plug-and-play nature of the probe minimized the time of integration, and constant data transmission removed the after deployment troubleshooting.
