Smart Gateway for Multi-Device Protocol Integration

Tespro's edge gateway handled protocol conversion (DLMS/Modbus/MQTT) and supported multiple communication modules like RS485, 4G, and Wi-Fi. It acted as a local hub for data collection and forwarding.

Case

Product Case

The mixed-use commercial campus (offices, retail, residential buildings) had very serious problems with unifying the energy information. Having dozens of different meters, sensors, and old-fashioned systems of monitoring, the facility management team faced the problem of inconsistent data capture, incompatibility of different devices, and delays in receiving actionable information to perform energy conservation. The campus also had poor network coverage, especially in remote areas resulting in real-time gaps in monitoring.

The TG-324 Intelligent Edge Computing Gateway dealt with all these problems. Its 2G/3G/4G/5G connectivity also enabled stable connection in low-coverage areas, and its extensive interface package, such as dual Ethernet ports, two RS485 interfaces, an RS232 port and GPIO inputs/outputs, easily supplemented the large variety of energy monitoring devices on the campus.

The gateway was developed on OpenWrt/LEDE and enabled the team to create own data collection logic based on building types, and the IP65 level of protection ensured its usefulness in indoor and semi-outdoor settings.

Today, the campus has a centralized energy data platform to provide consistent and real-time insights in any space. The flexible integration of the TG-324 has removed the problem of device incompatibility, and its reliable connectivity and flexible data workflows have facilitated energy monitoring and optimization processes.

The industrial grade reliability and flexibility of the gateway has enabled it to become the foundation in the sustainable energy management plan of the campus.
