With the official launch of Tespro's all-new TR-400 series industrial routers, let's take a closer look at this new product designed for industrial IoT scenarios.

The TR-400 integrates Wi-Fi 6, full Gigabit Ethernet, 4G/5G cellular connectivity, industrial serial ports, protocol conversion, and remote management capabilities into a single device. It establishes stable and secure communication channels between field devices and cloud platforms, SCADA systems, and other upper-level systems.

Below, we explore the TR-400 through five core features.

Core Feature 1: Wi-Fi 6 & Full Gigabit Networking

The TR-400 is powered by a dual-core ARM Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz, featuring hardware NAT acceleration, and is equipped with 512 MB of memory and 256 MB of storage.

The device supports Wi-Fi 6 AX3000 dual-band wireless networking, with speeds up to 2402 Mbps on the 5 GHz band, meeting the demands of multiple terminals such as industrial tablets, mobile maintenance endpoints, and video devices.

At the same time, the series offers 3-port or 5-port Gigabit Ethernet configurations, capable of connecting PLCs, industrial computers, switches, controllers, and other network equipment, providing ample bandwidth for concurrent communication across multiple terminals.

Core Feature 2: Multi-Network Access for More Flexible Networking

The TR-400 series is available in both 4G and 5G cellular models, and can be flexibly combined with Gigabit Ethernet and dual-band Wi-Fi for diverse networking setups.

In factories and commercial buildings with fixed broadband, Ethernet can handle primary communication tasks. In scenarios where cabling is challenging—such as substations, pumping stations, charging stations, and environmental monitoring sites—4G or 5G enables device networking and data upload.

Core Feature 3: Industrial Interfaces & Protocol Integration

The TR-400 provides 2 RS485 ports and 1 RS232 interface, allowing connections to PLCs, power meters, sensors, controllers, and other industrial equipment—bringing traditional serial terminals into modern industrial networks.

The device features built-in Modbus RTU/TCP and BACnet communication capabilities, and supports data transmission via MQTT, TCP, UDP, HTTP, OPC UA, and more, enabling integration with cloud platforms, SCADA, and other management systems while reducing the complexity of connecting disparate devices and systems.

Core Feature 4: Remote Management for Continuous Visibility

The TR-400 runs on Tespro's self-developed TesproOS operating system, offering a web-based management interface for viewing network status, real-time traffic, cellular signals, and operation logs, as well as configuring network, protocol, and security settings.

The device also supports connection to the Tespro cloud-based device management platform. Even when deployed behind NAT or firewalls, it enables remote access, parameter adjustments, fault diagnosis, and device maintenance without requiring a public static IP, reducing unnecessary on-site service visits.

Core Feature 5: Secure Connectivity & Industrial-Grade Reliability

The TR-400 supports VPN connections via OpenVPN, WireGuard, IPsec, and PPTP, and features an industrial-grade firewall to establish secure communication channels between field devices, remote engineers, and business platforms.

With an IP30-rated enclosure and support for wide operating temperatures from −40°C to 70°C, the device is well-suited for deployment in industrial control cabinets, energy sites, remote equipment enclosures, and various other environments.

One Device, Covering More Industrial IoT Scenarios

With its high-speed networking, multi-link communications, industrial interfaces, and remote management capabilities, the TR-400 is applicable across industrial automation, smart buildings, smart energy, retail chains, and unattended remote sites.

In factories, it connects PLCs, HMIs, and production equipment. In building and energy projects, it interfaces with controllers, meters, and sensors. At substations, pumping stations, charging stations, and environmental monitoring points, it enables data upload and remote operations via cellular networks.

The TR-400 not only delivers high-speed network connectivity but also integrates device access, protocol communication, secure transmission, and remote management into a unified platform—helping customers simplify industrial network architectures and improve both project deployment and ongoing maintenance efficiency.
